A word about sunscreens..... To be effective, sunscreen should be applied 30 to 60 minutes before sun exposure. This allows the sunscreen to penetrate the subcutaneous skin layers (located just below the outer skin) and helps prevent and control damaging sunburns. Applying sunscreen right before entering the water is completely ineffective - the sunscreen washes off immediately and is of no value.
